It was a true case of Saturday night fever over the weekend, as the Eye Like team were invited to a super secret launch party courtesy of Wishbone Publishing!
And which artist may you ask was the cure for our delirium? Only JJ Adams of course! It was a tough month trying to keep our frenzy over the launch of JJ's new collection at bay, but just as we reached breaking point, the night finally arrived... We departed in our horse and carriage to Shoreditch (yes we're edgy now...) and needless to say the suspense was driving us crazy as we entered the Hoxton studios!
After feasting on a three course meal and having tantalised our tastebuds with cocktails (yes we were treated like royalty), the highly guarded doors we'd had our eyes on all evening finally opened to reveal JJ's latest releases! We were dramatically welcomed to the 'Surgery' by his seven new originals - each of which features a famous sci-fi character - poised in all their glory and lighting up the dark and smoky room.
These are no ordinary figures however, as JJ has given each one an x-ray persona, astoundingly enhanced through their light box medium! So believe me when I say that the room was entirely transfixed, and that they all left me pretty light-headed!
Now, as the doctor would say, would you like the good news? Yes please!
Get ready for goosebumps - we're delighted to announce that JJ's original Dalek 'Exterminate' will be arriving at Eye Like Gallery all too soon!
We've been reeling with excitement about this truly electrifying original, that's bound to make one hell of an impression upon it's arrival... Trust me, if you're looking for a one of a kind piece with the x-factor (quite literally!), this artwork is one you don't want to miss out on!
But don't despair if you've got your sights set on more than one of his famous figures... All of JJ's light box originals are available through Eye Like Gallery as striking limited edition prints, and being editions of only 45 they're even rarer than his previous releases (boo-boo)! And although these new editions are completely different to JJ's previous works, there's no doubt that they're just as impressive... They've continued to be a talking point since Saturday night!
So how are we feeling post surgery? JJ may have given us an antidote to our curiosity, but I'm sure Eye Like aren't the only ones who've got an ailment of another sort... Please cure our hearts desire! Whatever you'd like to call him: Dr Who, Super Man or simply JJ Adams, we salute you!
