'Keep calm and carry on' is easier said than done when faced with the legend that is JJ Adams... We've only just about recovered from the excitement of last Thursday night, when we were honoured to be in the artist's presence!
Saro and I were lucky enough to attend the launch of a super exciting collaboration between JJ Adams and Bang & Olufsen, at their flagship store in Hanover Square on 10th September. The incredible new artworks unveiled at the launch by JJ were inspired by B&O's exclusive "Love Affair Collection", in conjunction with their 90 year anniversary.
Now as you can expect, the anticipation beforehand was driving us crazy, and by the time we arrived at the event we were moments away from barging into the store (and our excitement was only added to by the unveiling of the red carpet)!
But boy oh boy was the wait worth it, as Saro and I were in for a treat! After receiving a fab screen print created especially for the event (sorry hands off!) we were greeted by the man himself, armed with pencils and a whole lot of banter! And after a good old chat with JJ, we came face to face with 'The Love Affair', his original painting created to feature on B&O's new range of limited edition speaker covers. Unfortunately the photo doesn't do it justice, but woweee - both the painting and the speaker cover were incredible!
But the eye candy didn't stop there, as we were also awed by JJ's 'God Save The Queen' original, displayed amongst a selection of his well-known prints, and also artworks that were exclusively on display that evening (keep reading to find out more, but something's coming, something good!). From head to toe B&O's flagship store looked totally JJ'tastic - I know this isn't a word but it really should be - and seeing so many of his works together really emphasised how impressive and vibrant they all are!
