Sitting in the Eye Like gallery this afternoon, looking around at all our fab new artwork, it hit me like a brick wall that our resident dog Brody has never been formally introduced to our lovely readers!
I'd say it's no exaggeration that our pampered pooch has become one of the attractions of Beaconsfield, famous (or infamous) in more ways than one. For those of you that regularly walk past the gallery, the image of Brody looking out of the window and watching the world go by will not be an unfamiliar sight. Indeed, he sometimes lies on the doormat waiting for an unsuspecting customer to walk by (blocking their entrance may I add, thanks Brody!) and begins his charm, by which I mean he rolls onto his back expectant of a tummy rub, and brings out the puppy dog eyes.
However, be warned of his innocence you might be fooled into. We may have to install Brody cams or watchdogs (no pun intended) throughout the town, due to his recent cheeky escapades. Just a couple of weeks ago, he managed to escape from the clutches of the gallery when our backs were turned for only a few moments. We subsequently received a call telling us Brody's new location - Laithwaites across the road! The little monkey had decided that enough was enough, if he wasn't going to be taken home for his post lunch nap, then he would take himself there!
Minutes later I arrived at Laithwaites to see Brody waiting expectantly by the door, looking a little peaky but still rather pleased at his latest conquest. Luckily we were able to see the humorous side of our cheeky chaps escape, with the sight of him waiting patiently (armed with a toy in his mouth) too funny for me to stifle a giggle. A big shout out though goes to Dan, the knight in shining armour, as without his quick witted and kind rescue this tale may not have had the same happy ending.
So look out for Brody in the gallery or out and about in Beaconsfield... a dog's a friend for life, so if he likes you, we do too!
